Department of Public Health's data lists 68 licensed community residential care facilities in Greenville, Anderson, Pickens and Laurens counties with 3,996 licensed beds (from 8 to 126 beds each); 7 are small community residences for adults with disabilities or mental illness, and the rest serve older adults.

What do the columns mean?
License number, licensed beds, the Alzheimer's unit and Alzheimer's care flags and the license expiration date come from DPH's Find a Facility data; the count of DPH orders comes from DPH's monthly Healthcare Quality enforcement reports since January 2025.
3 of the 68 CRCFs appear in an enforcement report in that period. Every senior-serving CRCF has its own page with its record, nearby alternatives and questions to ask. South Carolina does not publish CRCF inspection reports online, but they are public on written request to DPH.
Is a CRCF the same as assisted living in South Carolina?
Yes. South Carolina's legal term is community residential care facility, and DPH says facilities meeting the CRCF definition may be called assisted living; the same license covers a 10-bed residential home and a 120-bed purpose-built community.
